Specializing in service and solving patients’ problems, Delta Pharmacy has evolved into a Compounding Pharmacy. We still fill regular prescriptions, but have focused on being Problem Solvers by offering hard to find medications or compounding a unique prescription when necessary.

Compounding is the making or altering of a particular dosage form of a medication using pure powders. Until the mid-1900’s pharmacists made all of the medicine patients received. Today drug manufacturers make the majority of medicines and most pharmacists just repackage and dispense to the patient. However, many patients need individualized prescriptions that are not available from a drug manufacturer. A compounding pharmacist can acquire the medication and make the appropriate dosage for the patient. Compounding pharmacist have had extra training and experience in compounding capsules, lozenges, suppositories, injections, eye drops, creams, ointments, lotions, and suspensions. Whether to avoid allergic reactions or simply to make a drug taste better, the standard method of delivery, dosage forms, strength, and flavor can be customized especially for you, your family members, and even your pets.

Prescription quality and patient safety are very important to Delta  Pharmacy.   With the demand for compounded prescriptions increasing each year, there has been a need for an enhanced, profession-wide system of standards by which each compounding pharmacy can test its quality processes. Compounding pharmacies are regulated by the state however PCAB Accreditation is an even more comprehensive way to ensure a compounding pharmacy has undergone the compounding pharmacy profession’s most rigorous review and inspection measures.  Delta Pharmacy received the PCAB Accrediation and is only accredited pharmacy in the Midlands of South Carolina.
